The best apple pie recipes

Here is a delicious and classic recipe for apple pie:

Ingredients:

  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (about 6-7 medium-sized apples)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.

  4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust. Dot the top with the butter.

  5. Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the apple filling. Trim the edges and crimp the edges of the crusts together with a fork or your fingers to seal.

  6. Cut several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  7. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.

  8. Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  9. Let the pie cool completely before serving.

Enjoy your delicious homemade apple pie!
