Ingredients:

  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (about 6-7 medium-sized apples)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.

  4. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust. Dot the top with the butter.
